So... I made a birdhouse because it 's everything I imagined a bird would like. I would be attracted by the bright colour to sit on what looks like a tree, it 's a very organised, geometrical tree, but that doesn 't matter to me because I am a bird and I don 't understand geometry. There are perches and roots and I am well fed which makes me very happy.I know of course that if I wanted to I could leave, I am not imprisoned by this shell. At this point I will take a little sustenance - this is a magic birdhouse. In early spring our thoughts turn to breeding, and it 's a very good meeting spot for finding a mate... there are some good looking ones, and there are some which are quite frankly ugly, but usually they manage to find a mate and that 's TERRIFIC.Now... when there is nesting going on... we make mini versions of the whole BIRDHOUSE. i.e. piles of twigs and other bits and pieces. Some of them are very well camouflaged within the whole structure but it 's a very good place to bring up young because we have neighbours who can look after the chicklets if you want a night out.YES... it 's a very good place... obviously carefully thought about.Well, I know that humans get pretty fed up with us because we wake just before sunrise and we start singing because we are so happy and we are making sure everyone appreciates the territory we occupy and it is, I must admit, a bit of a cacophony. But it is also very beautiful. This is one of my favourite places to come, particularly in the mid-evening to watch the sun going down before I retreat into the complexities of the structure and spend an evening with my friends.
